Only 1,386 of these pistols were made in .45 ACP with production during 1991 & 1992.
Magazine holds 8-Rounds each.
Sights are 3-dot night sights but no longer glow.
Case is not original. The case is current production S&W.
These guns came with a bead-blast finish over a stainless steel slide. The finish can be touched up using Scotch-Brite pads. I will include a sample of the pads and instructions with the gun.
There is minimal finish wear on the slide and frame that can be touched up. Frame is stainless steel, with no visible wear on the slide rails. Right side of frame is rollmarked with the S&W logo, legible and crisp but with a slight mar on the bottom of the left leg of the W. Right side of the frame is marked with “Gaston CO. P.D. 51” and appears to be laser etched. Left side of the frame is stamped with the serial number and model number, both crisp and legible. The slide is also stainless steel, also with no visible wear on the rails. On the left side of slide the rollmarks are legible and crisp. The right side of the frame has the laser etched warning “Caution refer to instruction manual” but this marking is very faint indicating someone has touched up or buffed the finish. Grips are new / unused with no wear and minimal handling marks. Sights are metal and of the tritium variety, but no longer glow. Barrel has excellent rifling and crown, feed ramp center is smooth but does have machine marks on the both high sides of the ramp. Includes four magazines (three with black followers and one with a yellow follower).
My opinion is an overall NRA rating of “Very Good”.
This pistol has been shot, but does not appear to have been shot a lot. Gun is very clean. Box is not original but is current production Smith and Wesson. Gun appears unmolested. This would be a great pistol for home defense, vehicle, or for your collection.
